Bikers usually wear them not only as an item to make them instantly recognizable, but also to add some style to an otherwise bland piece of safety equipment.

Even though it might seem sturdy – try not to drop it or treat it roughly. The purpose of a helmet is to absorb shocks and impacts so it shouldn’t become damaged in case it doesn’t protect you correctly when you need it most. Other than refraining from causing damage to it try not to store the helmet too close to fuels and corrosive fluids. Harsh chemicals and extreme heat can warp the shell of the helmet and degrade the materials inside it. The chief cause of this kind of damage is resting the helmet on the fuel tank of the bike when you take it off.

To clean it, first remove all accessories from the basic shell of the helmet. This includes the face shield, cheek pads, and other parts and accessories like the chinstraps. Next, use a soft cloth and dip it into a mixture of soap and water and use it to clean the inside of it. Take care to be gentle when cleaning the lining.

The exterior of the icon motorcycle helmet should be sprayed with a plastic cleaner or a polish, preferably one specifically manufactured for use on motorcycle helmets. Once all residue of the cleaner has been removed by a cloth, wipe down the visor with lens cleaner that has been treated to avoid fogging of the glass. Its cheek pads and other accessories can be washed with soap and water.

Keeping the icon of your mainframe helmet intact and avoiding it from becoming faded or scratched is particularly important, so make sure to keep the surface clean, especially if you regularly ride off-road. Be particularly gentle with the polish and plastic cleaner on the exterior of the icon helmet, and it should stay in pristine condition!
